In the era predating the emergence of OpenAI, ChatGPT, and various other generative A.I. technologies that have garnered global attention, policymakers and regulators in Europe and North America engaged in a profound discourse regarding the definition of “trustworthy” and “human-centered” AI. Essential questions arose: Who should assume the role of regulator? What aspects of AI should fall under regulation? And how can these rules be effectively enforced?
The ERC wishes to support an organisation or a consortium of organisations to set up a funding scheme that would facilitate 3-5-month stays of journalists at research institutions.
